Customers ordering baby care products, children's medications or ingredients for S'mores from a Kroger supermarket in Centerville, Ohio may soon see a drone delivering their orders.
The grocer has teamed up with Drone Express in a pilot grocery service with test flights starting this week, according to a Yahoo Finance report.
The news comes as retailers, from Amazon to Walmart, are looking for drone delivery in specific geographic areas. Kroger is reportedly launching a second pilot program at different brand store in California.
"The pilot reinforces the importance of flexibility and immediacy to customers, powered by modern and efficient last-mile solutions. We're excited to test drone delivery and gain insights that will inform expansion plans as well as future customer solutions," Jody Kalmbach, Kroger's group vice president of product experience, told the news outlet.
