Just one year after leaving her Ivanka Trump fashion house its namesake, the daughter of President Donald Trump, is closing down shop citing her work in Washington, D.C.
Trump, who serves as a White House adviser, will layoff 18 employees in the next few weeks, according to a New York Times report, and is unsure if she will ever resurrect her fashion business.
"After 17 months in Washington, I do not know when or if I will ever return to the business," Trump said in a statement, according to the Times, adding, "making this decision now is the only fair outcome for my team and partners."
As Retail Experience reported earlier this month Hudson’s Bay announced it would stop selling the fashion line due to lack of sales.
