Jo-Ann Stores goes live with JDA supply chain management

February 4, 2010

JDA Software Group has announced that Jo-Ann Stores Inc. is live with JDA's supply chain management software solutions. Operating in 48 states with annual revenue of $1.9 billion, Jo-Ann Stores is the nation's largest specialty fabric retailer, featuring a variety of sewing, crafting and home decorating merchandise.

The 769-store retailer leveraged JDA Services' implementation expertise to successfully integrate JDA Demand, JDA Demand Classification, JDA Fulfillment and the newly released JDA Order Optimization solutions with its existing ERP system. By leveraging JDA's demand-forecasting capabilities, Jo-Ann Stores expects to rebalance inventory levels across its stores and distribution centers, enhance store- and DC-level forecast accuracy, increase integration as a result of streamlined space and merchandise planning, as well as increase exception-management capabilities.

The ability to respond in real time to changes in consumer-buying behavior will also help the retailer improve customer-service levels and positively impact bottom-line results.

"Accurately aligning product selections with changing consumer demand enables retailers to be more responsive while reducing risk and uncertainty," said Wayne Usie, JDA senior vice president, retail. "By applying the disciplines of time-phased demand planning to its merchandising processes, Jo-Ann Stores can look forward to gaining a more complete picture of future customer demand that will help drive increased profitability, reduce inventory levels and improve customer service."
