Kohl’s taps Michael Bender as permanent CEO

Kohl's has named Michael Bender as its permanent CEO after he served as interim CEO following the departure of Ashley Buchanan.
The decision comes as the retailer faces declining sales, according to a CNBC report.
Bender is the third chief executive in three years for the brand. He has been director of Kohl's board for the past six years.
Board Chair John Schlifske said Kohl's hired an external firm and "conducted a comprehensive search" for the retailer's new leader, according to a press release.
"Over the past several months as interim CEO, Michael has proven to be an exceptional leader for Kohl's – progressively improving results, driving short and long-term strategy, and positively impacting cultural change," he said in the release.
