Kroger aims to reduce its companywide workforce by 1,000 jobs.

The staffing work reduction is part of a strategy to simplify operations, according to a WLWT5 report.

The job reductions will impact Kroger's admin teams and described by interim CEO Ron Sargent as a "meaningful number of associate reductions," according to the news report.
