Lightspeed hires on a new CTO

December 8, 2017

Cloud-based point of sale system company Lightspeed has a new chief technology officer at the helm.

John Vandermay is the new CTO and will spearhead the vendor's product development strategy, according to a press release that also noted Lightspeed just closed a $166 million series D round investment.

With over 25 years of software engineering and global leadership experience, Vandermay joins Lightspeed from Visto (formerly Collective), an advertising technology company in New York City backed by Accel, Greycroft and iNovia. Before Visto, he spent three years at Dassault Systèmes GEOVIA, where he was the vice president of product development, and oversaw successful global engineering and product management.

In addition to executive leadership roles in engineering at companies like Cognos and BlackBerry, he also led engineering and development at Omniture.
