Lowe's on the catwalk during New York Fashion Week

Home improvement retailer Lowe's is getting its first appearance in New York Fashion Week thanks to three designers, including Rebecca Minkoff.

Minkoff, along with Jason Wu and Christian Siriano, will feature Lowe's products in each of their live shows, according to a CNN report.

"The relevancy of fashion has shifted with the zeitgeist," Lowe's Chief Brand and Marketing Officer Marissa Thalberg told CNN Business. "People are very focused on their homes and how homes really are the new epicenter of fashion and self-expression."

Wu, in a statement, said the home has become the fashion center for people as it's now the focal point given shutdowns, work at home scenarios and stay-at-home mandates due to COVID-19.
