Macy's announced in a press release that it will launch a new store concept this year called Bloomingdale's Outlet. Four of stores are planned for 2010, each measuring approximately 25,000 square feet.
Arnold Orlick, a former principal with the Macy's (then called Federated Department Stores), will rejoin the company to lead the outlet-store charge. He started his career with Federated in 1969.
The stores, which will offer "a range of apparel and accessories, including women's ready-to-wear, men's, children's, women's shoes, fashion accessories, jewelry, handbags and intimate apparel," are planned to open in Paramus, N.J.; Miami; Woodbridge, Va.; and Sunrise, Fla.
