Mom isn't on everyone's mind come Mother's Day

April 30, 2018

Just over one quarter of Americans acknowledge that they've completely forgotten their moms, now and then, when it comes to the annual Mother's Day celebration.

A poll of 1,000 U.S. consumers, conducted by Propeller Insights on behalf of Ebates reveals 26 percent admit to periodically forgetting to celebrate their mom and even if they do remember they likely aren't hitting the bullseye when it comes to giving mom what she wants.

The poll reveals that while 52 percent think mom wants flowers, nearly half of moms, 46 percent, want a spa day. About a third, 36 percent, aren't even sure what mom's favorite flower is.

The good news is that most moms don't want electronics and most families aren't planning on buying her one, according to the survey. More than three quarters, 77 percent, are up for taking a trip with mom to celebrate the day.
