While the COVID-19 pandemic remains a concern, with 71% of consumers expecting it to affect Halloween plans, more will be trick or treating this year, according to a Numberator study regarding pre-pandemic and post-pandemic consumer views for the annual October holiday.

This year 16% expect an impact on Halloween due to COVID-19, quite less than the 40% in 2020, according to a press release on the findings.

Consumers are feeling more festive, with 47% buying décor this year compared to 41% last year, yet just one-third, 33%, will have a Halloween gathering compared to 43% in past years.
