Most consumers not ready to resume regular life

While retailers and restaurants are re-opening and businesses begin to resume regular operations a good number of consumers are not as ready.

That's a prime finding of a Resonate data report. The AI customer and data intelligence provider reported that while consumers are more concerned about the economic impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, when compared to health risks, an "overwhelming" number of consumers are stating that nothing short of a vaccine will give them reason to return their usual travel, hotel, church, concert and sporting events.

The data survey of 5,000 American consumers also revealed "new normal" behaviors in everything from shopping to sports viewing.

"No matter what level of business operation is permitted by state and local governments, the reopenings and resumption of business mean nothing if organizations don't take the steps necessary to ensure customers feel safe reengaging with their services," said Bryan Gernert, Resonate CEO, said in the release.
