New Mexico's motor vehicle department has deployed self-service kiosks at two Albertsons locations in Albuquerque on a test basis that allows customers to instantly renew and print vehicle registrations, according to an Albuquerque Journal report.

The MVD Direct kiosks allow users to pay with a credit card and print their registration and sticker in two minutes.

The kiosk uses voice technology to prompt users in English or Spanish.

Users incur a $3.95 fee along with the registration fee and a 2.3% credit card convenience fee.

MVD is offering a 5% discount on the registration cost for kiosk transactions.

The are available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Albertsons Market, 2910 Juan Tabo NE and Albertsons Market, 4950 Montgomery NE.
