A "lack of fashion-forward products and design missteps," as well as decreasing consumer traffic are prime factors prompting retailer Nine West to file for bankruptcy.
The company, which also owns Gloria Vanderbilt and Anne Klein, filed bankruptcy papers late last week and is facing $1.6 billion in debt, according to a New York Post report.
The company plans to sell Nine West as well as its Bandolino brand to keeps its apparel, jeans and jewelry business lines moving forward.
