Pickup towers coming to Long Island Walmart stores

May 1, 2018

Two Long Island, New York-based Walmart stores are among the 500 nationwide getting the retailer’s newest delivery option — automated pickup towers.

The towers will come to Valley Stream and Islandia locations, which are being renovated, according to a Newsday report.

"It's one of the long list of innovations that we're expanding in stores or testing in stores to try to save customers time," Phil Keene, spokesman for Walmart Stores Inc., told Newsday.

The report noted the towers are made by Cleveron, a company in Estonia. Four additional New York-based stores are also getting the pickup towers and four in New York already have the towers.
