Pinterest CEO steps down, Google commerce leader stepping in

Pinterest CEO Ben Silbermann is leaving his post and Google commerce leader Bill Ready is stepping in to lead the social media platform.

The news comes at a time when Pinterest is focusing harder on e-commerce strategies and shifting from an advertising business model, according to a CNN report.

Silbermann led Pinterest for 12 years after founding the company in 2010.

"In our next chapter, we are focused on helping Pinners buy, try and act on all the great ideas they see," Silbermann told the news outlet.
