Ralph Lauren is embracing virtual and the metaverse in a quest to reach and attract the younger consumer.

"There are a lot of parallels actually between the metaverse and Ralph's vision because we are not a fashion company. We are in the dreams business," CEO Patrice Louvet stated during a talk at the National Retail Federation conference that took place last week in New York.

Virtual technology is providing customers the opportunity to make virtual visits as well as purchase digital apparel at the company's store on Madison Avenue in New York City, according to a CNBC report.

The brand's move toward the metaverse and virtual customer interaction comes on the heels of fellow retailers Nike, Walmart and Gucci. The company is evaluating the potential of NFTs and "experimenting," according to the news report.
