REI closing all operations on Black Friday

Outdoor clothing and accessories retailer REI is completely shuttering operations on Black Friday this year, not just its stores.

The company is closing all business operations on Nov. 25, from its 178 stores to call centers, to headquarters and its distribution locations, according to a CNN report.

Online order transactions on Black Friday will be processed the next day.

The retailer had shuttered stores on the big sale day seven years ago.
