Zero Strategy: E-retail is better for the environment than travelling to shops to get the same items. IMRG cited a report from the Logistics Research Centre at Heriot-Watt University that revealed having goods delivered by a parcel carrier produces significantly lower carbon dioxide emissions than driving to stores.
The research involved an examination of carbon footprints of online and conventional shopping for small items, such as CDs or cameras.
