Restaurant chains across the United States will honor our nation's veterans and active-duty military personnel Wednesday (Veterans Day) with a variety of discounts and free giveaways.
Baskin-Robbins — In honor of U.S. troops, military families and veterans, Baskin-Robbins will donate 11 cents from each ice cream scoop sold in its U.S. locations to the United Service Organizations. Baskin-Robbins' Veterans Day program is in support of the USO's programs and services that help keep America's military community connected to home throughout their time of service. As part of this year's campaign, Baskin-Robbins and the USO are asking everyone to take a moment on Veterans Day to thank the more than 1.3 million active-duty service members around the world by texting "THANKYOU" to 50555. Additionally, Baskin-Robbins will offer a special veteran's incentive program for U.S. veterans seeking to open a Baskin-Robbins franchise in the U.S. As part of the program, Baskin-Robbins will waive the 20-year initial franchise fee of $25,000 for their first restaurant. The program also offers a 0-percent royalty rate for the first two years and a reduced royalty rate for years three through five (the standard royalty rate is 5.9 percent per year). For qualified, honorably discharged U.S. veterans, this makes Baskin-Robbins' ownership easier for first-time franchisees.
