A former Home Depot employee is avoiding prison time after stealing and selling $400,000 in home improvement products and has been sentenced to five years of supervised release.

Justin Farinato, a 42-year-old Groveland, Massachusetts resident was initially facing a 37-month prison stint, according to a Salem News report, for the theft of bulbs and thermostats between 2014 and 2019 that he then sold.

In late 2020 he pleaded guilty to interstate transport of stolen goods and income tax evasion.

He was found to be selling tools during his pretrial release.
