Showcase, a retailer and product developer based in Canada, has expanded its footprint to Massachusetts with the launch of five stores.
The locations include its 123rd store which opened in Braintree, near Boston. It is one of 31 brick-and-mortar stores to open in malls across 12 U.S. states this year, according to a press release.
Showcase currently has 13 stores in the U.S. northeast and plans to grow its North American store count to 150.
Founded in Edmonton, Alberta in 1994, Showcase stores are designed to be fun, interactive and demo-friendly environments. Customers are encouraged to "try it before you buy it" with the majority of products open and on display.
"We are thrilled to open our first Showcase trend store in Massachusetts in the popular South Shore Plaza," Samir Kulkarni, Showcase CEO, said in the release. "We are very excited to introduce customers in Braintree and its surrounding communities to the unique Showcase brand. Shoppers will now have convenient access to a store filled with the hottest social media trends they won't find elsewhere."
