Retailers to make lingerie high-tech

August 31, 2012

Trying on lingerie may become passé if the latest retail technologies from Victoria's Secret and Ann Summers are a hit with consumers, according to an article on Marketing Week.

Ann Summers is planning a Sept. 3 launch of BlippTease, an augmented reality campaign that can interact with ad posters in the store windows or through the MiniLogue to virtually try on lingerie before making a purchase. Customers can share the photos on Facebook or Twitter for feedback from friends.

Victoria's Secret is also upping the technical ante by installing the largest video wall of its kind in its latest UK store in London. The digital screens embedded into the store's display walls are part of a move by the chain to put multimedia at the core of its retail strategy.
