Return Saver launches, offers unlimited e-commerce returns for flat annual fee

July 1, 2014

Clarus Marketing Group has announced the launch of Return Saver, a subscription program that it says helps alleviate costs and simplify the returns process.

According to the company, subscribers to the service can easily return items, without charge, to virtually any store on the Internet. For $49 a year, consumers can take advantage of returns delivered by FedEx Ground, the exclusive shipping carrier for the Return Saver program.

Subscribers receive free shipping on packages of up to 50 pounds, packed in a standard-size box, when they return purchases to online retailers in the contiguous United States.

“Ninety-five percent of customers become repeat customers after a positive return experience,” said Tom Caporaso, CEO of Clarus Marketing Group. “The question of who pays the shipping costs for online returns has long been a point of contention in the e-commerce space. Beyond that, two-thirds of online shoppers these days check a retailer’s return policy before making a purchase on its website, and four out of five shoppers base their purchase decisions on the ease of making returns. Return Saver eliminates those concerns for consumers, while at the same time saving online retailers the cost of picking up return shipping charges for those customers.”
