Robert Redford's Sundance Catalog store launching in Connecticut

Sundance Catalog, a lifestyle retailer of apparel and home furnishings, has opened a brick-and-mortar retail location in Westport, Connecticut.

The 3,920-square-foot store, located at 97 Main St., is the retailer's first northeast location. There will be a formal grand opening in the fall, according to a press release.

It is one of three Sundance Catalog stores opening nationwide this year. Sundance was founded by actor, director and environmentalist Robert Redford in 1969 to promote artistic efforts. It published its first catalog 20 years later

The company, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah operates 19 stores through the U.S. and an online storefront.

"The Westport opening marks the first Sundance store in the northeast and in the greater Tri-State area. The team and I are very excited to make our debut in the region with the downtown Westport location, a natural and clear choice for Sundance. Our loyal customers in the surrounding area have participated in the Sundance lifestyle for years through our beautiful catalog. Bringing the authentic Sundance experience from Utah to Connecticut is an absolute thrill for us," Matey Erdos, Sundance CEO, said in the release.
