Sam's Club is partnering with delivery service DoorDash to offer members same-day pharmaceutical delivery from its 500-plus stores across 41 U.S. states.

Members will get free delivery on the first two orders through Jan. 31, 2022 and the delivery cost after that will be a flat $7.99 fee. Customers need to call the local store pharmacy to schedule delivery and will have an app capability in mid 2021, according to a press release.

"Our partnership with DoorDash to launch this new service allows us to not only give our members more convenient healthcare options, but also delivers on our commitment to their overall wellness needs," John McDowell, VP, pharmacy operations and divisional merchandise, Sam's Club, said in the release. "Sam's Club has always adapted to our members' changing needs, and that's never been truer than today as we continue to evolve our ways of shopping to help them live healthier, happier lives."

The partnership marks DoorDash's first pharmaceutical partnership on such a large scale, according to the release.
