A new report predicts Amazon will account for 55 percent of first-product search during the upcoming holiday season, during which ecommerce is expected to grow 13.6 percent.
BloomReach's "State of Amazon" study, which polled 2,000 U.S. consumers, reveals Amazon is increasingly beating out search engine site use by consumers, as 9 in 10 consumers will check Amazon even if they find a product they want on another retailer's site, according to an announcement.
"Amazon continues to be the first destination when consumers want to find a product, driven largely by a perceived superior end-to-end experience. Online shopping is all about relevance and convenience, and comparison shopping has never been easier — especially with mobile growth," said Jason Seeba, BloomReach's head of marketing, in the announcement.
