November 22, 2009
Smilebox, a Washington-based company that lets consumers create photos, DVDs and other products from their digital media, announced that its users can now print directly to any Walmart or Sam's Club store in the United States. According to a press release, products will usually be available for pickup within one hour.
"IDC's research indicates consumers are embracing a variety of custom photo printing products and services, and are expecting flexibility in how, where and when they order their prints. The partnership Smilebox has with some of the biggest retailers in the U.S. indicates the company is well-positioned to meet this demand," said Chris Chute, manager of IDC's Digital Imaging Practice.
