Target getting ready to start smaller-store experiment

January 3, 2011

The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal reports that Target, which has its headquarters in Minneapolis, has chosen 10 cities as possible venues for an experiment with a smaller store format.

Construction begins next month on a mall-based store in San Francisco, which is approximately two-thirds the size of a typical Target location. Other cities being considered for the new format include Boston, Chicago, New York, and Minneapolis.
