Temu shoppers are loyal, pretty social

The Temu shopper spends $247 a year at Temu, a Chinese online marketplace, and makes an average of six purchases on the site each year. Well more than half, 70%, are repeat buyers.

Those are findings from a Numerator report tracking consumer behavior.

The data also revealed:

  • Temu shoppers are 22% more likely to be millennials and 18% more likely to be Gen X vs. the average consumer.
  • Temu shoppers are also 26% more likely to be LGBTQ+, 15% more likely to be Black, 13% more likely to be Asian and 10% more likely to live in rural areas.
  • Temu shoppers are less likely to say that they are actively managing their health or are committed to organics. They are 19% more likely to be impulse buyers.
  • 48% of Temu shoppers say they learn about products, services and brands via social media.
  • 37% of Temu shoppers use TikTok (40% more likely vs. all consumers) and 30% use Snapchat (31% more likely).
