Tennessee county installs license plate renewal kiosk

Residents of Rutherford County, Tennessee can renew their auto license plates in a few minutes thanks to a self-serve kiosk that was recently installed, according to the Mufreesboro Post. The kiosk requires a credit or debit card and the barcode from a renewal notice.

County Clerk Lisa Crowell said people should bring their emissions testing paperwork in case it is needed, but the renewal form on the kiosk automatically populates the emissions testing information.

The kiosk has eliminated the long lines that often required people to wait for half an hour.
