TikTok mulling warehouses, broadening retail sales footprint

Social media platform TikTok, which has about 80 million U.S. users and sells products from TikTok creators and merchants, is looking to expand its warehouse footprint by opening warehouses near Amazon's headquarters in Seattle as well as in Los Angeles.

The platform runs its retail operations in select markets including Indonesia and the U.K. and has posted job openings for business solutions and merchant development, according to a New York Post report.

One of the postings details a new fulfillment service to be built from the ground up for U.S. logistics needs.

"We're focused on providing a valuable shopping experience in countries where TikTok Shop is currently offered across Southeast Asia and the U.K., which includes providing merchants with a range of product features and delivery options," a TikTok spokesperson told the Post.
