President Donald Trump has told Apple it faces a 25% tariff for iPhones sold but not manufactured in the U.S.
Apple's iPhones are made in Asia, and the 25% tariff could be higher as Trump said "at least 25%," according to a New York Post report.
One industry analyst said Trump's edict is a "fairy tale that is not feasible," according to the news outlet.
In early May Trump made a similar demand regarding Apple constructing plants in India for phone manufacturing.
Initially, with his first tariff declarations Trump had not included electronics such as the iPhone.
The news comes on the heels of Target CEO Brian Cornell warning shareholders and consumers of "massive potential costs," partly due to the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.
