U.K. consumers are willing to spend 44% more on average with retailers they trust, and over 73% of U.K. shoppers have had a negative online shopping experience.

That latter number jumps to 93% when it comes to Gen Z consumers.

Those are top findings from the 2023 Consumer Trust Premium Report from digital commerce provider Forter.

The reports surveyed 5,000 U.S., U.K., German consumers as well as consumers in China and Singapore, according to a press release.

The reported called the additional spend/trust behavior as "Trust Premium."

"The Trust Premium represents potentially millions of pounds in revenue uplift for retailers," Michael Reitblat, CEO and co-founder, Forter, said in the release. "U.K. retailers that lean into and invest in customer experience — from account creation to authentication to checkout — are best positioned to turn a profit over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend."
