US retailers heaviest spenders on digital advertising

US retailers spend more on digital ads than any other industry.

When it comes to digital advertising, U.S. retailers spend more on the medium than those in any other industry, according to eMarketer.  It also reported that 25 percent of programmatic digital display ad dollars come from retailers, making them the leader in programmatic spending as well.

Retailers are spending 70 percent of digital display budgets on programmatic buys this year, for example. Overall, the industry will spend $3.71 on programmatic digital display ads this year, according to eMarketer.
