Walgreens is the latest retailer to increase wages in the battle to hire on talent.
The company will begin paying $15 an hour as of October, according to a CBS News report.
The news comes as retailers are finding hiring a challenge and recent surveys indicating workers want more pay and more flexibility in job roles.
Just about 90,000 Walgreens workers, half of its workforce, are already getting the hourly rate, according to the new report. The $15 rate will apply to both parttime and fulltime workers.
The federal minimum wage is $7.25.
