Walgreens getting a customer-driven makeover

March 28, 2010

The Chicago Tribune reports that Walgreens stores are about to get a customer-centric makeover.

The new design is scheduled to hit 2,500 to 3,000 stores this fall. Currently, 700 stores have been upgraded to the format, which features more food and wine, larger aisles for beauty products and more space for electronics.

"As we've said before, this is an ongoing process with many checkpoints along the way to allow us the opportunity to tweak and refine as needed," said Wasson. "As we move into the next phase, we'll continue to build sales, take work out of stores, lower inventory and, most importantly, improve our customers' overall shopping experience."
