Walmart expands specialty pharmacy footprint

Walmart is expanding its specialty pharmacy footprint by opening 25 "Specialty Pharmacies of the Community," across five states.

The expansion puts the pharmacy footprint in more than 30 locations across nine states, according to a Forbes report.

The news comes on the heels of Walmart announcing it was closing retail health clinics as well as a telehealth business.

In the next month, Walgreens is expected to debut "Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy," within its pharmacy footprint.
