Walmart has cut 1,000 jobs as part of a streamlining initiative within its operating structure, according to a CNBC report.
"We've made changes to simplify how the work is organized, make ownership clearer, and better align roles to the work and skills we need going forward," Walmart's head of global technology Suresh Kumar and head of global AI acceleration Daniel Danker in a memo to employees on May 13, according to CNBC.
Walmart, as of the end of January, employed 2.1 million workers and is the biggest U.S. private employer with 1.6 million employees.
