Discount retailer Target had a steadier year compared to many retailers, but continued to provide the same quality customer experience to its shoppers. In an effort to keep customers aware of product recalls, Target instituted a notification system for its approximately 1,700 stores nationwide. Through in-store kiosks, shoppers have access to notices of new or past recalls for all product categories, and can print copies to take with them. Those who are members of Target’s loyalty program also are phoned if they purchase an item that has been recalled.
