By joining forces with the likes of Michael Graves, Mossimo Giannulli and Isaac Mizrahi, Target has brought products by big-name designers to the masses at affordable prices. Kmart has partnered with Jaclyn Smith and Martha Stewart, while H&M teamed up with Karl Lagerfeld for a one-time clothing collection. The arrangement seems to be a win-win all around, as consumers happily snag designer threads and furnishings for a decent price, designers gain recognition as a household name and retailers benefit from an increased perception of quality and value in their stores.
