The thrill of winning an auction can cause quite a spike in adrenaline for eBay junkies. Since it launched in 1995, eBay’s online auction site has consistently held its own against brick-and-mortar stores. Its spot firmly in the middle of this list may be due to some broad changes the company announced in 2008 to improve its customer experience: lowering fees for listing items, making its minimum selling standards more stringent, offering incentives and discounts to its best sellers and updating its feedback system.
