Now that regional supermarket chain Stop & Shop has successfully tested a personal shopping device, we might soon usher in an era of expanded adoption of the technology. Easy Shop enables customers to scan, track and bag their purchases with handheld devices as they shop. Software provider Modiv Media can influence metrics such as basket size, purchase levels and coupon redemption rates. Personal shopping devices also may enhance loyalty programs and lead to targeted in-store marketing to provide the shopper with information at the point of decision.
