88. Bergdorf Goodman
December 9, 2009
Though it was last year's best customer experience winner on the Luxury Customer Experience Index survey, Bergdorf has recently borne the brunt of global economic woes. Parent company Neiman Marcus Group Inc. reported a 24.2 percent drop in same-store sales in its luxury segment, and in February the company slashed 450 jobs after having cut 375 just a month prior. CEO Burton Tansky told Seeking Alpha that Neiman Marcus is keeping its outlook positive and looks forward to the day when "core" customers return after the financial markets have stabilized.
