Shopping at airports while waiting for a connecting flight is no longer small potatoes. Indianapolis International Airport, the nation’s first big terminal designed and built since the 2001 terrorist attacks, found its 50 retail and foodservice spaces courted by at least 250 vendors. Other airports began spicing up their retail offerings by mixing local and national chains, giving customers a blend of new and old.
