There hasn’t been a more exciting time for retailers thanks to all the emerging technologies. Retailers must learn about new platforms designed for engaging consumers and improving the customer experience as well as strategies incorporating both tech and tools for advancing and expanding the retail business industry.

There hasn’t been a more exciting time for retailers thanks to all the emerging technologies. Retailers must learn about new platforms designed for engaging consumers and improving the customer experience as well as about strategies incorporating both tech and tools for advancing and expanding the retail business industry.

Those are just a few reasons I’m so excited about stepping into the role of editor at RetailCustomerExperience.com. As a longtime professional journalist, who has been writing about business and technology for over two decades, I’ve seen the tremendous changes that technology, the Internet, communications and new computing devices have spurred. They continue to drive amazing innovation, and the retail industry has always been one that has embraced the evolution.

We’ve come a long way from surveying shoppers by using paper and pens, mailings with coupons and billboards as signage. Today, retailers can not only reach loyal customers but entice potential new customers in and out of the store in a dozen different ways. They also have the ability to get constant feedback on how best to serve and sell and — most of all — give customers what they want, when they want it and how they want it.

That’s why I’m hoping RetailCustomerExperience.com readers will help make our site the most valuable it can be through sharing and advice, comments and contributions and providing the crucial and valuable insight you’re gaining every day as you try new strategies, deploy new tools, and embrace all the new innovations coming into play.
