Action West Group selects Aldata planning software

May 22, 2011

Aldata Solution, a retail and distribution software provider, has announced a new customer for its Apollo Space Optimization solution. According to Aldata, food broker Action West Group is now using the software to increase production and provide deeper analysis of product plans in order to improve sales and profitability for its customers.

Founded in 2007, Action West Group specializes in perishable food departments, including meat, seafood, bakery and service deli. Using the Apollo Space Optimization software, the company’s brokers can create planograms and schematics that reflect individual store shelf layouts and customer shopping preferences, and ensure that products are efficiently included in a retailer’s product mix.

“We now have a tool that allows us to create opportunities to sell our clients’ products based on facts and accurate information,” said Andy Keeler, president of Canyon State Sales for Action West Group’s Arizona division, in the announcement.

“Automating the planogram process from traditional spreadsheets and drawings provides us with a competitive advantage, especially within the perishable goods department,” he added.

The Apollo Space Optimization product is a collection of software solutions aimed at giving customers the ability to automate planogram production as well as enabling consistent, accurate execution of category plans and new product launches.

Shaun Bossons, senior vice president of Aldata said, “(Action West Group) understand the value that technology can bring to perishables, a traditionally difficult area of the retail industry when it comes to planning, and have taken advantage of the capabilities that Apollo provides.”
