According to MoodieReport.com, Aldeasa, an airport retail operator, has unveiled its new travel retail store “The Shop” at the Alicante Airport in Spain. It is the company’s first 100 percent walk-through store, meaning all passengers must pass through the main store.
The retailer has also opened three other stores in the terminal, including a confectionary shop, an Express Shop located near departure gates and an Arrivals Shop locate in the baggage claim area.
“The Shop” features travel retail items such as beauty products, tobacco, liquor, apparel and accessories. Other areas will be assigned for special promotions and events to entertain travelers within the store.
“We have worked in close partnership with AENA to develop these new stores in their impressive terminal building, and are very proud of what we have achieved,” said Eugenio Andrades, Aldeasa’s chief commercial director. “We are confident that these four new stores in Alicante will offer the airport’s passengers an exciting, inspiring and stimulating shopping experience.”
The 1,650 square foot walk-through store will also showcase areas that offer a range of local products including toys, drinks, foods, souvenirs and household products.
In terms of passenger traffic, Alicante Airport is the sixth busiest airport in Spain, behind Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Malaga and Gran Canaria.
