Amazon drone service flying into Phoenix area

Amazon customers in West Valley Phoenix metro area will have the option of drone delivery service later this year.

It's Amazon's latest drone service effort since launching the delivery channel in Texas and California two years ago, according to an Amazon announcement.

In 2023 it began delivering prescription medications in partnership with Amazon Pharmacy to customers in College Station, Texas.

"We've received great feedback from customers and communities as we've rolled out the service," stated Amazon.

Amazon is working with the Federal Aviation Administration and local officials in Tolleson to obtain all necessary permissions to conduct deliveries in Tolleson.

"Once we've received all the necessary approvals, we'll begin reaching out to customers in the West Valley so they can receive drone deliveries when the service goes live later this year," stated Amazon.

The omnichannel retailer is slowing ending the California drone program in Lockeford, according to a CNBC report.
