University of Connecticut students and faculty now have their own Amazon pickup location, the first in the state.
The 4,000-square-foot pickup site at 40 Wilbur Cross Way in Storrs Center will open this summer.
"We are excited to bring an Amazon pickup location to the UConn and greater Storrs community," said Ripley MacDonald, director of Amazon Student Programs, in an announcement. "Whether students are ordering college essentials, electronics or snacks, Amazon will provide a convenient and secure spot for them to pick up their stuff at hours that work with their schedules."
In the past year Amazon has opened staffed pickup locations at the following universities: Purdue University, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and University of California, Berkeley, as well as in the college communities of University of California, Santa Barbara, and University of Cincinnati. Amazon will also open more locations in 2016, including: University of Pennsylvania, University of California, Davis, The University of Texas at Austin, The Georgia Institute of Technology and California State University, Long Beach, as well as in the college community of University of Akron.
