Amazon heading back to school in Illinois

Amazon is teaming up with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to open Amazon@Illinois, a staffed pick-up location in the Illini Union Bookstore on the UIUC campus. The first Amazon pickup location in Illinois, according to the release, offers the campus community a convenient location to pick up and return Amazon orders.

"Amazon@Illinois will offer students a pickup location centrally located on campus to easily get their merchandise ordered through Amazon," Ripley MacDonald, director of Amazon Student Programs, said in an release. "We are thrilled to offer the Urbana-Champaign community more opportunities to save on their overall costs along with great customer service, better selection and convenience."

The location is slated to open this fall and an will offer special deals to students, including special same-day Prime shipping.

"We are excited to partner with Amazon and add this level of service for students, faculty, and staff on campus," said Renée Romano, vice chancellor for student affairs at Illinois. "The Illini Union Bookstore location is perfect to offer convenience and security in the heart of campus."
